Belly Wheel
A Belly Wheel (also known as an ab wheel or ab roller) is a piece of fitness equipment designed to strengthen and tone the core muscles, particularly the abdominals. It consists of a wheel with two handles on either side, which the user grips while performing exercises.
How it works:
- Core Activation: The primary muscles worked during belly wheel exercises are the abdominals, obliques, and lower back. When you roll the wheel out and pull it back in, your core muscles engage to stabilize your body.
- Rollout Exercise: To use the wheel, kneel on the floor and grip the handles, rolling the wheel forward while keeping your body straight. Then, pull it back toward your knees, engaging the core throughout the movement.
Benefits:
- Core Strength: It helps in strengthening the core muscles, which are important for overall stability and balance.
- Improved Posture: A stronger core can contribute to better posture and reduce the risk of back pain.
- Increased Flexibility: The ab wheel movement can stretch the muscles, increasing flexibility over time.
- Fat Burning: As an intense exercise, it can aid in burning calories and improving overall body tone.
